Cultural Mediator & Documentary Director
Sun Kim
I’m a Cultural Mediator dedicated to bridging worlds—whether through film, high-stakes negotiations on the Korean nuclear crisis, interpretation, or cultural projects.Born and educated in the U.S., raised in South Korea, and shaped by my time in New York before settling in Brussels, I’ve experienced firsthand the challenges of displacement and integration. These experiences have shaped my deep appreciation for communication and mediation.

Since 2017
Track 1: Interpreter
Based in Brussels, I’ve had the privilege of working as a Consecutive Interpreter for over 40 delegations from the South Korean National Assembly and Government Ministries. I’ve facilitated meetings requiring high levels of confidentiality with the European Commission DGs, European Parliament MEPs and delegations, EEAS, NATO, and various international organizations based in Brussels.
Organizer & Cultural Mediator, 2012-2015
Track 5: Research & Education
I co-organized Discrete Math and Computational Geometry Workshops in Pyongyang, DPRK, bringing together international researchers and North Korean mathematicians in August 2014 and August 2015.In addition, I coordinated fact-finding trips to North and South Korea for organizations such as the Boghossian Foundation (April 2014), Pacific Council (September 2012), and Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (May 2012).
